How Stevia Sweetener Can Prevent, Aid, and Even Reverse Type 2 Diabetes.

A Picture of the stevia sweetener

What Is Type 2 Diabetes?

Type 2 Diabetes is the most common form of Diabetes.

Those who are diagnosed have a sort of insulin resistance/deficiency. Insulin is the stuff in your body which regulates glucose (Sugar) in your system.

Without it, or without it working properly, the blood glucose levels in your system will increase greatly. This can cause things like Fatigue, Depression, and Weight Gain.

How Stevia Sweetener Can Be Used To Prevent Type 2 Diabetes

One of the main causes of Type 2 Diabetes is Sugar intake.

Diabetes is a disease that is mainly prevalent in people who are overweight (Although people over 45 are also susceptible to the disease as well).

So being able to lower your sugar intake before you get Type 2 diabetes is the best way that you can prevent this disease.

And here is the part where Stevia comes in. You see, Stevia does not contribute to the weight gain that ordinary sugar would.

So replacing the bad Corn Syrup (Often found in soft drinks) and regular table sugar for homemade sweetened drinks and Stevia powder can already decrease your sugar intake by a large amount.

How It Can Aid People With Type 2 Diabetes

If you already have Type 2 Diabetes, keeping your sugar intake down is going to be one of your greatest challenges.

So just like the prevention stage, replacing regular sugar-sweetened items in your diet, with Stevia-sweetened products can greatly reduce your blood sugar levels.

If you are making an adjustment to a new sugar-free diet, then Stevia is really going to aid you in the process.

Because now you don't have to cut things out of your diet, all you have to do is replace them with something else (That tastes nearly as good, minus a slight aftertaste).

Can Stevia Sweetener Help To Reverse The Effect Of Type 2 Diabetes?

Not only can Stevia help you cope with your restrictive diabetic diet, but it can also help to even reverse the condition!

Dr. Patrick B. Massey states in the Daily Herald that "Stevia has actions similar to several currently used medications. It stimulates the release of insulin and normalizes the response to glucose, especially in type 2 diabetes. It is used... as an inexpensive therapy for hyperglycemia"

As you can see, this really is an amazing plant!

Of course, you don't have to rely entirely on Stevia to help you. Read my popular article How To Reduce Blood Sugar by decreasing your sugar intake to learn even more about preventing diabetes!
