How Stevia And Diabetes Are A Match Made In Heaven

I know it's a ridiculous claim for me to make, but Stevia and Diabetes really does go well together. Just take a minute and let me share!

If you look into the effects of Stevia on your body, and the effects of diabetes, you can actually see that one can really help take care of the other.

#1: Less Sugar Intake

I think this one is fairly obvious, but it's still important to cover.

Obviously, if you have a great substitute for sugar like the Stevia Sweetener, then you won't need to eat as much sugar.

It's simple logic. If you can fill your sugar cravings, without eating sugar, then you no longer need sugar (And your lifestyle hasn't changed too much!)

And because Stevia won't cause spikes in your Blood-Sugar levels, it makes for an excellent substitute.

#2: Lower Blood Sugar Levels

In 1986, the Universities of Maringa, and Sao Paolo did some tests of people for blood sugar levels.

One group ate Stevia, the other didn't.

The group that had the Stevia always ended up having lower blood sugar levels (In a controlled environment, so there were no other variables to take into consideration).

Basically, they concluded that Stevia does have an effect on your blood sugar levels, and it lowers it.

And for Diabetics, that is a really good thing.a picture of agave nectar

#3: Increases Insulin Sensitivity

Not only does the stevia plant lower your blood-sugar, but it also helps your cells use insulin properly.

Tests on Rats with, and without type 2 Diabetes have shown that when using stevia, their insulin resistance lowers, and the body's sensitivity to insulin increases (Allowing it to use it better).

If you are a diabetic, then you understand how important that is.

A Caveat

Now just remember, Stevia is NOT a cure for Diabetes. The only way to effectively control diabetes (Seeing as there is no cure), is through lifestyle change.

But the Stevia sweetener really can help you make that change.

It will take you by the hand through the change, and will help the make it less painful for you.
