My One And Only Sugar Free Pear Sorbet Recipe

"A recipe has no soul.  You, as the baker, must bring soul to the recipe."

This Sugar Free Pear Sorbet Recipe replaces a lot of the Agave Nectar (Safe for diabetics) with pure apple juice instead (unsweetened).

There is still a little bit of Agave in there, but it is only 1/3 of a cup, instead of a full cup.

The Recipe:

  • 1/3 of a cup of Agave Nectar
  • 5 peeled and sliced pears
  • 4 and 1/2 Teaspoons of Lemon Juice
  • 3/4 of a cup of unsweetened apple juice

Instructions:

1.

Combine all 4 ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil. Bring the heat down and let it simmer for 10 minutes until the pears are soft.

2.

Let it cool for 5 minutes (not on a burner).

3.

Process in a food processor for 2 minutes (Just make the mixture smooth and not chunky). Now put it into a freezer friendly dish (probably a metal one if you can) and Freeze for 4 hours.

4.

When you are ready to serve it, let it run through the food processor again (after it being in the freezer) and then pour it into small bowls.

Enjoy!

Erythritol is a great substitute for sugar, although it is only about 65% as sweet as sugar, so you'll need to use more of it in order to properly bake with it.
