Make Sure To Boil This Sugar Free Champagne Sorbet Recipe Before You Freeze It

The trick to making this Sugar Free Champagne Sorbet properly is to boil the champagne and water together for long enough that the some of the alcohol gets evaporate (Allowing the sorbet to freeze, because alcohol freezes at a colder temperature than your freezer).

Allergy Information:

Sugar-Free (Be sure to check the champagne you buy to see what the sugar content is in it!)

Peanut-Free

Dairy-Free

Soy-Free



The Recipe:

  • 1/2 a Cup of Agave Nectar
  • 1/8th of a teaspoon of Stevia Organic Extract Powder (Or another 1/2 cup of Agave Nectar if you don't have any).
  • 1 and 1/2 cups sparkling wine or champagne
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon zest (the thin shavings of lemon skin)
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 of a cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice



Instructions:

1.

Put champagne, agave, stevia, and zest into a saucepan. Bring to a vigorous boil for 3-5 minutes and remove from heat.

2.

Strain into a stainless steel bowl, add the grapefruit juice and lemon juice.

3.

Cover with plastic wrap and chill in your refrigerator over night.

4.

Process the mixture in your ice cream maker according to the ice cream maker directions.

5.

Put into a freezer friendly container and freeze for 6 hours. Take out 15 minutes before you want to serve so it has time to soften up.
